ThreadMaster for iOS Now Supports Posting to 4chan

Reply to 4chan threads from inside ThreadMaster, with a smoother CAPTCHA handoff flow

We just shipped a major update to ThreadMaster for iOS: you can now post replies to 4chan directly from the app. If you already use ThreadMaster to browse 4chan boards, this update keeps more of your reading and replying workflow in one place.

Posting to 4chan from a mobile device often involves small bits of friction: switching between a reader and Safari, copying text, re-opening the same thread, and dealing with CAPTCHA at the end. This release is designed to reduce that friction while still respecting the posting flow that 4chan requires.

What is new

With this release, ThreadMaster adds a dedicated 4chan posting flow in the message composer. The goal is not only to expose a submit button, but to make the full reply path feel connected to the thread you are already reading.

  • Start your reply from a 4chan thread in ThreadMaster
  • Write your message in the familiar in-app posting form
  • Continue to the built-in CAPTCHA step when required
  • Submit and return to browsing without losing context

This is included in the 1.81.0 release line.

The composer lets you begin the reply inside the app, using the same reading context you already have. When the post needs to continue through 4chan’s own CAPTCHA or web form flow, ThreadMaster hands the draft into a focused WebView step instead of making you start over in an external browser.

Why this matters

Until now, many users switched between apps or browser tabs to finish a 4chan post. That extra friction made quick participation harder, especially when you were following fast-moving threads. By the time you copied a reply, opened the thread in Safari, found the form, and handled CAPTCHA, the thread might have moved on.

The new flow keeps posting close to reading:

  • Less context switching
  • Fewer copy/paste steps
  • A more consistent experience across the forums ThreadMaster supports

This matters most on iPhone, where context switching is more expensive than on desktop. A forum reader should help you follow a thread, understand the replies around it, and respond without rebuilding the same state in another app.

It also helps if you use ThreadMaster for more than one forum. You can browse 5ch, Bakusai, 4chan, and other supported communities from the same app, then use a posting flow that fits the current forum when it is available.

4chan CAPTCHA handoff, made easier

4chan often requires CAPTCHA for posting. ThreadMaster now guides this path with a focused WebView sheet and carries your post fields into that step, so you do not need to rebuild your draft from scratch.

In practice, it feels like one continuous posting flow rather than two disconnected screens. You write your reply in the native composer first, then continue through the 4chan page only when the service requires it.

This distinction is important because CAPTCHA is not something a third-party app can simply ignore. The safer user experience is to keep the official web step available, but reduce the amount of manual work around it. ThreadMaster focuses on that handoff: prepare the draft in-app, open the correct 4chan thread or reply page, and let you complete the required verification step.

If a post fails or 4chan asks for additional action, the WebView context makes it easier to understand what happened than a silent background failure would.

Built for multi-forum users

ThreadMaster has always aimed to make multi-forum browsing and posting simpler on iPhone. Adding 4chan posting support is another step in that direction.

If you read and post across communities, this update reduces overhead and keeps your workflow in one place. Many users do not read only one board or one forum. They might follow Japanese boards, local forums, imageboards, and topic-specific communities throughout the day.

When each community requires a separate app or browser flow, the actual reading experience becomes fragmented. ThreadMaster tries to keep the common parts of forum browsing together: board lists, thread lists, thread details, media previews, favorites, history, and now a smoother 4chan reply path.

The result is a more practical iPhone workflow. You can read a thread, check an image or video preview, write a reply, complete CAPTCHA when needed, and go back to reading without manually reconstructing your place.

Good posting habits still matter

This update makes posting easier, but it does not change the responsibility of posting to public communities. Before replying, make sure you are following the rules of the board you are using. 4chan boards can have different expectations around topics, formatting, spoilers, images, and off-topic replies.

ThreadMaster is a client that helps with the workflow. The actual post still goes through 4chan’s own systems and requirements. If CAPTCHA appears, if the board rejects a post, or if a field is required, those rules still apply.

Using the in-app composer is most useful when you already know what you want to say and want to avoid unnecessary app switching, not when you are trying to bypass the normal posting process.

Try it today

If you already use ThreadMaster, update to the latest version and test posting on your usual 4chan boards. Open a thread, start a reply, and follow the in-app flow through the CAPTCHA handoff when required.

If you are new, download the app and start with the same thread workflow you already know. Browse a board, open a thread, read the conversation, and try the reply flow when you want to participate.

ThreadMaster will continue improving the multi-forum experience on iPhone, including browsing, search, media previews, and posting flows where supported.
